Opryland Hotel and Parent's 50th wedding anniversary

We had the honor of accompanying Pat's parents on a trip to Nashville last month.  We stayed at the Gaylord Orpyland hotel and attended a Grand Ole Opryland show.  What was really neat is that when we booked the show, we weren't really impressed with the line up of performers but last minute they had a "special" show to honor Loreta Lynn's 50 years with The Grand Ole Opry.  This meant that the line up of performers was top of the line for the night.......how providential is that?  Pat and I aren't country music buffs but his parent's are pretty into it and knew way more about the performers and songs than we did.

The hotel itself is very impressive to say the least.  There are huge atrium's within the hotel with all kinds of exotic flora and fauna.  I wanted to take pictures of everything and start a notebook............  since we weren't there to do that, I refrained but plan on going back with the kids just for that purpose.  I was able to get some beautiful pictures of the parents and the greenery.  I would like to share some of them with you all.

So if you will humor me........................................................................

This is the main atrium where they have this huge waterfall.  Our room was to the right of the waterfall on the 3rd floor.  Most of the rooms face the atrium's and have the balconies you see in the picture.

This is a picture looking down on a small waterfall in one of the other atrium's
This is a picture of some of the orchids that are growing throughout the atrium's
This is the main atrium again.  There is a huge palm tree that is at least 40 ft high.  You can see it in this picture.
You can see the top of the atrium in this picture.....all that glass.
These were some cool bromeliad's that looked like they were lit from within.  It is hard to see that in the picture.

When we were there, the hotel was setting up it's light's for the holiday season.  Everyone tells us that we have to see them decked out for Christmas.  A trip to Nashville may be in our near future.
